Filiberto has had a couple of unfortunate surprises. With the passing of time, life has gotten just a little more difficult for him. When he stepped in to help raise his grandchildren, he quickly realized that he started to need some support of his own. Thanks to United Way and United HomeCare, he is able to stay at home with his family while getting the assistance he needs to live his best life.

white space Leaders take charge for a day of action

More than 50 United Way leaders from several giving communities joined forces to beautify Lindsey Hopkins Technical College, the county’s first technical college for adults, on May 11. Lindsey Hopkins Technical College serves over 1,700 students, preparing them for a variety of careers. Volunteers created a new landscaped entrance for the school and organized the Project Up-Start donations closet. Thank you to Guzman & Company for sponsoring this project.

Paul Imbrone
Director, Landlord Recruitment and Retention at RentConnect, a housing service of the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust

“There is no greater policy to support than those that help our local community gain the advantages of financial stability and education. I am so proud of our United Way of Miami-Dade group and honored to collaborate with them as we continue to advocate for change for a better quality of life for all, especially those in need. I've seen firsthand the results of our programs and have found it gratifying to know I played a small part.”
