Our website (www.unitedwaymiami.org) uses SHA-2 and 2048-bit encryption to ensure complete security while transferring potentially sensitive or private information from your web browser to United Way Miami’s system. When using our contribution forms, your browser will clearly indicate that a “secured session” has been started. Watch for a small key or padlock to appear in the lower part of your browser’s display or marked with a padlock and the word “Secure” in the address bar; when active, you are guaranteed that all information entered is “encrypted” (or scrambled), sent to United Way Miami, and then decoded. This protects unauthorized viewers from reading your information; even if prying eyes CAN intercept your data, they will not be able to interpret it.
