A message from the CEO
For nearly 100 years, United Way Miami has worked to support local families, becoming the go-to resource for our region’s most vulnerable residents. As we enter a new fiscal year, United Way Miami continues to create innovative ways to meet the needs of our community.
In the last year alone, we have been able to provide 145,322 families with financial stability resources, 5,879 young children with quality early education and 6,328 unemployed and underemployed individuals with training and placement programs.
I am especially proud of the successful launch of UpSkill Miami, our new workforce development fund with the potential to change lives for generations to come.
Our 2023-2024 annual community campaign is an opportunity to expand our resources and reach even further, and the upcoming centennial celebration lays the foundation for United Way Miami to make an even greater impact over the next 100 years.

UpSkill Miami – New skills, new opportunities
|
In July, United Way Miami launched the first phase of UpSkill Miami, a transformative new fund that invests in workforce development. With an initial investment of $2.5 million, the fund will benefit nearly 500 residents and help them land jobs in the high-demand fields of healthcare and transportation. Recently, Ms. Onesha Major graduated from The CDL School with her newly acquired Class B driver's license. Join us in celebrating her achievement and the incredible impact UpSkill Miami is having on our residents.

Championing Early Education

United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education
|
Our United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education’s Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership (EHS-CCP) expands access to high-quality infant and toddler care for working, low-income families. This year, the program will continue serving over 500 children across 18 sites in Miami-Dade County through our partnership, ensuring a smooth transition to preschool. Last month, we brought together more than 100 educators from our EHS-CCP for a three-day conference, covering vital themes like classroom music, creative spaces, outdoor play and STEM, setting the stage for a successful school year ahead.

LINC Miami creates a memorable Senior Day
|
|
|
LINC Miami, our dynamic group of young advocates for a stronger Miami, recently hosted its Fourth Annual Senior Day, inviting older adults from our partner Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami. An unforgettable "Havana Nights" theme brought salsa dancing, games, prizes and more. Thank you, LINC Miami, for creating a special day of intergenerational camaraderie for our community’s older adults.
