 United Way Miami Names Symeria T. Hudson President and Chief Executive Officer Starting August 5, 2022, Symeria Hudson will join us as President and CEO of United Way Miami. In her new role, Symeria will lead our organization to its next phase of growth and evolution as we continue to build a thriving and equitable community where all people have access to quality education and the opportunity to lead healthy and financially secure lives. 
Congratulations to our 2022 Outstanding Volunteers United Way Miami celebrated 98 years of serving and impacting Miami-Dade County at its 2022 Annual Meeting and Volunteer Awards. At the event, the organization honored seven remarkable volunteers who help build a #StrongerMiami.

 United Way Miami Elects Penny Shaffer as Board Chair United Way Miami's trustees have elected Penny Shaffer, former Florida Blue Market President for South Florida to serve as Board Chair for the next two years. Beginning July 2022, Shaffer will spearhead the board comprised of business and community leaders who are responsible for the overall governance and direction of United Way.
