United Way Miami’s Young Leaders Celebrate 100 Years of Impact at its 8th Annual Build Your Own Brunch
Aprons tied and ready to whisk up something special, hundreds of guests gathered at the InterContinental Miami for United Way Young Leaders’ 8th Annual Build Your Own Brunch (BYOB). Held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, this interactive culinary experience brought together young professionals, food enthusiasts and community supporters to celebrate United Way’s centennial and raise funds to continue to empower families and create opportunities across Miami-Dade County.
This year’s BYOB invited guests to roll up their sleeves and create a three-course brunch alongside Miami’s culinary stars, Michael Beltran, the creative mind behind the Michelin-starred Ariete, and Giovanni Fesser, famously known as Pastelito Papi. From preparing malanga latkes to crafting pastelito de guayaba y queso, the event highlighted Miami’s diverse culinary culture and philanthropic spirit.
Beyond the kitchen, attendees had the chance to participate in a live auction featuring exclusive items, including luxury travel packages, private dining experiences and one-of-a-kind entertainment opportunities. The generosity of those in attendance helped raise $207,140 directly supporting United Way Miami’s Core Four pillars: Health & Wellbeing, Education, Resilient Communities and Economic Mobility. These funds will help United Way impact the lives of 187,000 annually, helping individuals gain access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
The event also marked an exciting new chapter for United Way Young Leaders, a dynamic group of more than 500 professionals dedicated to making a difference. By expanding its membership to include changemakers up to 45 years old, this growing community is fostering collaboration, innovation, and leadership to create a stronger, more connected Miami.
