UNITED WAY MIAMI HONORS DARLENE & JORGE M. PÉREZ WITH BUILDING DEDICATION CEREMONY FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF THE MIAMI-DADE COMMUNITY

Miami, FL – (May 24, 2022) – This morning, United Way Miami hosted a dedication ceremony to honor Darlene and Jorge M. Pérez and The Perez Family Foundation for their continued support of the organization and commitment to helping vulnerable families in Miami-Dade County. The family donated nearly $2.9 million that was placed in United Way Miami’s endowment fund. The organization honored the family by naming a portion of their Annex building after them. The lettering adorns the building, facing Coral Way. A few of their children – Jon Paul and Nick Pérez were also in attendance.

Darlene & Jorge M. Pérez are longtime supporters of United Way Miami and strong philanthropic advocates of advancing the Miami-Dade community. They are both members of United Way’s Tocqueville Society and have supported many efforts and programs, including the United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education.

“We are so grateful to Darlene & Jorge for their continued support and trust throughout the years,” said Joe Zubi, United Way Miami interim President & CEO. “Thanks to donors like them we are able to continue fueling our mission of building a thriving and equitable community for all,” continued Zubi.

United Way Miami focuses on empowering and uplifting vulnerable families in Miami-Dade County through its work in education, financial stability and health.
