UNITED WAY MIAMI ANNOUNCES 2022-2023 ANNUAL CAMPAIGN CO-CHAIRS AND CABINET

Felipe Basulto, Cristian LaCapra and Ana VeigaMilton lead the efforts to help those in need in Miami-Dade County

MIAMI (September 14, 2022) – Every year, United Way Miami launches their community fundraising campaign, inviting corporate partners and their employees as well as the community at large to contribute to the organization’s mission of building a stronger Miami. Funds raised from the campaign are the driving force that allows United Way to respond to the community’s most complex needs – including sustaining a portfolio of direct services as well as financial support for over 100 programs and initiatives focused on improving equitable access to quality education, financial security and health for vulnerable residents in the Miami-Dade community. Each year, the organization elects leaders in the community to act as co-chairs of the campaign – passionate fundraisers who are longstanding supporters of United Way Miami to help spread the campaign’s message throughout the community. This year, Felipe Basulto (TD Bank), Cristian LaCapra (Northern Trust) and Ana VeigaMilton (The José Milton Foundation) have been appointed as co-chairs.

“Our annual campaign at United Way Miami is a key component in helping us have an impact our community. We are incredibly grateful to Felipe, Cristian and Ana, our Co-Chairs and committed the campaign cabinet and dedicated employees in driving our annual campaign throughout the community,” said Symeria Hudson, President & CEO at United Way Miami.

Felipe Basulto, Market President – South Florid Retail Banking for TD Bank, has a strong commitment to the community through his efforts in various organizations. His current board memberships include the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the South Florida Progress Foundation, the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, His House, OIC of South Florida, and City Year. He is Chairman and member of The South Florida Business Council and also serves on the President’s Council at Florida International University. He is a trustee and former cabinet member of United Way Miami’s Tocqueville Society.

Cristian LaCapra is the Senior Vice President, Wealth Strategist at Northern Trust, where he actively represents the bank within the South Florida community. Cristian’s involvement in the community extends beyond his role at Northern Trust to a range of organizations. He is an active member the Orange Bowl Committee, Leadership Florida, The Cushman School Board of Trustees, The Gordon School/Temple Beth David Development Committee and Jackson Health Foundation. He is also past chair of United Way Miami’s Tocqueville Society.

Ana VeigaMilton is president of the José Milton Foundation and the Corporate Social Responsibility Officer of United Property Management. She also co-founded the Cecil & Ana Milton Family Foundation, supporting conservation efforts and our military and first responders. She serves as the chair of Jackson Health Foundation, is the board secretary of Red Cross Miami, and is the past president of the University of Miami Citizens Board, among others. She is a lawyer and engineer, committed to impactful philanthropy and community engagement throughout South Florida. Ana currently serves on Untied Way Miami’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Along with the campaign co-chairs, a campaign cabinet of volunteer leaders will guide the community to another year of improving the quality of life for Miami-Dade families.
