UNITED WAY MIAMI AND VIRGIN VOYAGES RAISED MORE THAN $500,000 TO BENEFIT MIAMI-DADE COUNTY’S VULNERABLE RESIDENTS

Miami, FL [December 19, 2022] – Thanks to a donation of more than 500 cabins from Virgin Voyages, the new, award-winning cruise line based in South Florida, United Way Miami has raised over $500,000 through the organization’s “Cruise for a Cause” promotion. All proceeds generated from the offer will benefit United Way’s mission by supporting 100+ local programs and services in the areas of education, financial stability and health.

“We are grateful to Virgin Voyages for this partnership and for offering the local community a chance to set sail on the Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady while doing their part to build a stronger Miami,” said Symeria Hudson, President & CEO at United Way Miami. “Because of organizations like Virgin Voyages, we are able to continue our efforts of building a thriving and equitable community for all.”

The Cruise for a Cause promotion included four-to- eight-night voyages for two onboard Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady or Valiant Lady in a high-tech and stylish cabin with a balcony at a special voyage fare, available only to United Way supporters. With this offer, cruise passengers enjoyed an exclusively adult experience complete with incredible dining at six signature restaurants, immersive entertainment, a mixture of group fitness classes ranging from bungee to barre and stops at some of the most authentic coastal destinations. Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady depart from PortMiami and sail to St. Croix, San Juan, Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Puerto Plata, and Key West. Additionally, every itinerary includes a stop at Virgin Voyages’ signature Beach Club in Bimini.

“We are always seeking opportunities to uplift and support our local community,” said Jill Stoneberg Senior Director of Social Impact & Sustainability at Virgin Voyages. “It’s been a privilege to collaborate with United Way Miami and further its mission of giving back in South Florida while also offering people an incredible vacation experience.”
