The tragic events at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School have led to heightened awareness of the importance and need for increased mental health services, among other issues. For decades our United Way has been committed to improving mental health programs to help family members understand and manage through the crisis of a loved one.

"While working for Publix I have had the privilege of being exposed to many charitable organizations. Throughout this time, I developed an interest in United Way of Miami-Dade and the work they do in the community.

Publix offered me the opportunity to spend some time working at United Way as a loaned executive. When I was offered this opportunity I jumped at the chance and just as I expected, it turned out to be both educational and extremely rewarding.
