United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education Demonstration School, Educare of Miami-Dade is now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year for children, aged three to four years. The school seeks to serve Miami-Dade County’s diverse population while providing access to high-quality early care and education. Limited spots available. Deadline to apply is June 30.

When the pandemic hit, Lakisha and her husband, parents to a toddler with a new baby on the way, were met with unforeseen challenges. A high-risk pregnancy meant having to leave her job and potentially losing the care for her child.
Sol Picón
This month, we highlight a selfless volunteer, leader and donor. Sol, a longtime volunteer and Women United co-chair, arrived in this country twenty-two years ago after moving from Argentina. Finding her place as a “giver” in Miami began with United Way tours in 2001, when she toured three agency partners and saw firsthand the impact her generosity and time had on our neighbors in need.
