As we near the end of the year, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the incredible milestones and the profound impact we have collectively achieved within our community.
I am truly touched by the remarkable efforts of our hard-working staff, the unwavering commitment of our dedicated community members and the selfless contributions of our invaluable volunteers.
United Way Miami impacts countless lives through our deliberate programs and initiatives. Annually, we leave an indelible mark on thousands of lives, making a real and lasting difference. We are not just an organization; we are the go-to support for our area’s most vulnerable residents.
While there is still much work ahead, let’s take a moment to celebrate the progress we have made thus far. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your continued dedication and passion.
I want to express my warmest wishes to you all. May this holiday season be a time of joy, gratitude and togetherness.
Here’s to the progress we’ve made and the journey that lies ahead.

Meet Mary
|
When Mary, a U.S. Navy Veteran, connected with MISSION UNITED, her life changed in a remarkable way. Facing financial hardships and struggling to pay rent, MISSION UNITED introduced Mary to United Way’s Center for Financial Stability, where she is currently on a path toward economic resilience and security. MISSION UNITED also helped Mary improve her resume and find a better-paying job with benefits and remote options. Mary has the tools to thrive thanks to MISSION UNITED, dedicated to helping veterans manage civilian life with sustainability and dignity.

Empowering Educators to Thrive in the Classroom
|
Our United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education (CFE) brought together nearly 100 teachers at a recent Connecting Assessment with Intentional Teaching (CAIT) conference. Committed to offering educators in Miami-Dade County free training, resources and support, this well-attended session enhanced teachers' understanding and utilization of assessment tools that promote effective teaching and improve student progress in the classroom.

Fostering a Love of Reading
|
United Way Young Leaders shared a memorable experience with children from our Center for Excellence in Early Education for Jumpstart’s Read for the Record®, the world’s largest reading experience that celebrates and supports children’s early language and social-emotional development. Volunteers were paired with children to read “Lots of Love” by Jenny Torres Sanchez, a beautiful story about family, finding ways to stay connected and sharing love across distances.
