Thanks to partnerships with prominent organizations like Baptist Health, Jackson Health System, Miami Dade College and United HomeCare we aim to train and employ 369 individuals in healthcare, addressing the shortage of skilled workers.
More than 100 students are currently enrolled in healthcare programs offered by Baptist Health, Jackson Health System and Miami Dade College. We're delighted to share that all three organizations have recently initiated training cohorts in programs such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Radiography, Respiratory Care Therapist, Licensed Practical Nurse and more. In addition, United HomeCare has not only trained 50 individuals but also hired 45 home health aides, contributing significantly to our efforts in building a skilled workforce.

Advocating for Education
|
United Way Miami is a proud member of the Miami-Dade County Fiscal Cliff Collaborative, which actively advocates for education in Tallahassee, engaging with legislators, community leaders and stakeholders to provide all children and families with the resources they need to thrive.
The Miami-Dade County Fiscal Cliff Collaborative's current focus is on meeting the need for safe, high-quality childcare, vital to supporting the current workforce. As a partner alongside other early education leaders, United Way co-signed an op-ed urging legislators and our community to ensure hard-working families maintain their eligibility for early care subsidies.
In addition, United Way is at the forefront of transforming early education through initiatives like our United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education Demonstration School, Educare of Miami-Dade. In celebration of Children's Week last month, United Way staff and parents of students from our Center visited Tallahassee to advocate for additional childcare and early education support; one more way, we are committed to fostering a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
