2023 Outstanding Volunteer nominations

We want to hear from you! Help us recognize outstanding volunteers in our community by nominating someone for the 2023 United Way Outstanding Volunteer Awards. Nominations are now open for the Dorothy Shula Award for Outstanding Volunteerism, Essie Silva Community Builder Award, Monsignor Walsh Outstanding Human Services Professional Award and Outstanding Youth Award. Bilzin Sumberg

Last month Bilzin Sumberg employees and their families came together for the 16th annual Bilzin Sumberg Cares Day, an annual volunteer day that makes a lasting impact in our community. This year's worthy project was in support of our community partner, the SSJ Health Foundation.

The team of passionate volunteers worked tirelessly to revitalize the St. John Bosco Clinic (SJBC), a free clinic funded by United Way Miami that provides primary care, chronic disease management and some specialty care to uninsured Miami-Dade County residents.

From painting the clinic's interior to planting bushes, pressure cleaning the pavement, constructing a picnic table for the staff and modernizing the staff kitchen and patient lobby, the volunteers poured their hearts into every aspect of the project. Additionally, the staff's children contributed to the cause by creating touching thank-you cards and participating in a kit packing activity for SJBC patients.

We applaud Bilzin Sumberg volunteers for their unwavering dedication to social responsibility and generosity. By dedicating their time, energy and resources, they make a profound difference in the lives of underserved children and adults lacking access to essential healthcare services.
