School-Age Education
United Way Miami will deploy an array of assets and tactics to ensure that students receive high quality academic, social, and adult support through an integrated system of partnerships and collaborative efforts.
Areas of Focus
Academic Supports
Help students improve academic performance and ensure students are on track to graduate from high school.
Social Competence and Improved Family Engagement
Providing support for students to improve engagement in school and ensure students make effective choices.
Post-Secondary Preparedness Supports
Ensure students enroll in a school or program of their choice and obtain a degree or certificate by providing post-secondary preparation and support.
School Aged Funded Programs
Ensuring youth achieve their full potential, investing in eight early childhood education programs at 21 locations and 30 school-age education programs across Miami-Dade County, focused on providing comprehensive services that address both child and family needs.
United Way EDEN Place
Established in 2016, United Way EDEN Place (Educate. Develop. Empower. Nurture.) works with multiple partners, including Overtown Youth Center, Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center and Miami-Dade County Public Schools to support children and families in the Overtown and North Miami communities – and beyond.
Future Bound
An early start is key when it comes to saving for our children’s success. Future Bound Miami’s Children’s Savings Accounts (CSAs) are a free savings tool for postsecondary education with program contributions, available to eligible kindergarten students attending Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS).
