Mayor’s Ball Celebrates 25 Years of Impact, Raises $1M at Studio 54–Inspired Gala Benefiting United Way Miami
Nearly 500 business leaders, government officials and community champions gathered for an unforgettable evening as the Mayor’s Ball celebrated its 25th anniversary honoring Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
Hosted in support of United Way Miami, the evening blended a sophisticated program with a 1970s disco theme, transforming the ballroom into “Studio 25” while underscoring collaboration among business, government and nonprofit leaders.
The annual event, a key fundraising driver for United Way Miami, generated more than $1 million this year. Proceeds help expand services across Miami-Dade, supporting families, increasing access to opportunity and delivering critical resources to residents in need.

When emergencies are declared, United Way Miami serves as the county’s ESF-15 partner at the Emergency Operations Center, helping coordinate volunteers and donations. The organization also leads Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and is embedded in CORE, the county’s coalition of agencies dedicated to supporting all phases of disaster management.
“For decades, we have stood together in moments that tested our community most – from natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic to supporting families and individuals during times of economic uncertainty. This partnership reflects a shared mission to ensure that every resident, especially our most vulnerable neighbors, has access to the resources, opportunities and support they need, not only to recover, but to thrive,” said Symeria Hudson, president and CEO of United Way Miami. “Mayor Levine Cava’s community-centered leadership and people-first approach continue to inspire how we come together in service to our community.”
The evening at the Loews Miami Beach was made possible through the dedication of our Fundraising Co Chairs, Johanna Cervone and Ken O’Keefe, as well as the generous support of Centennial Sponsor, Kenneth C. Griffin and Griffin Catalyst, Platinum Sponsor Ken O’Keefe and Jason Stephens and Emerald Sponsors City National Bank and Greenberg Traurig, along with many others.
“As we celebrate this anniversary, we honor the power of partnership and generosity, as well as the vital role United Way Miami plays in supporting our neighbors and strengthening communities across Miami-Dade,” said Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. “The Mayor’s Ball has been a cornerstone of Miami’s civic and philanthropic community, bringing together community leaders, corporate supporters and our incredible volunteer host committee to commemorate this milestone and help shape a stronger future for our region.”
