Make a difference from a distance

In the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we continue to work together in building a #StrongerMiami by caring for our neighbors. To ensure we are taking the necessary measures to protect the health and wellbeing of our partners, staff, and volunteers, United Way of Miami-Dade has activated several remote volunteering opportunities. From the comfort of your homes, we invite you to join us for opportunities like:

Letters to Local Heroes. Share a thank you message to the personnel who are on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis. From healthcare workers and letter carriers to farmworkers and grocery store employees, help us share our appreciation for essential employees during this time. Community service letters are available upon request.

Online Storytelling. Share your passion for reading with a child in our community. Early intervention and individualized attention gives students the best likelihood of success but school closures impact programs that support mentorship, early literacy, and social-emotional development, like ReadingPals. Pick up your favorite children’s book and share a storytime. Community service letters are available upon request.

Do you have a remote volunteering opportunity not listed here? Do you have questions about volunteering from home? Please email or call (305) 646-7118 to connect with us.
