United Way honored and celebrated the great efforts of Miami-Dade County Public Schools

Students, teachers and staff raised more than $1.4M during their 2019 United Way campaign

United Way of Miami-Dade hosted the 2019 Miami-Dade County Public Schools Employee and Student Campaign Awards Ceremony to honor and celebrate the hard work and dedication of students, teachers, administrators and staff. The school system’s 2019 United Way campaign raised more than $1.4M to help build a stronger Miami.

For more than 40 years, M-DCPS and United Way have worked together to help children and families. United Way invests heavily in early education to prepare children to enter kindergarten ready to learn and supports school-age programming from homework assistance and tutoring to post-secondary prep to make sure all students receive the extra help they need.

Superintendent of Schools Alberto M. Carvalho, United Way President & CEO Maria C. Alonso, school board members, and M-DCPS employees and students gathered to celebrate the accomplishment.
