Publix continues to lead the way in fundraising campaign benefiting United Way of Miami-Dade

Publix Appreciation Day in Miami-Dade to be celebrated on February 27

Publix Super Markets associates and Publix Super Markets Charities continue to be United Way of Miami-Dade’s top campaign contributor in the fight for a stronger Miami. The relationship between Publix and United Way began in 1981 and continues to grow to meet the needs of the community. Throughout seven states, Publix raised $39 million for United Ways in the southeast region of the U.S.

Following in the footsteps of Publix founder George Jenkins, Publix and its associates have embodied the very meaning of building community by helping people care for one another for 38 years. Publix’s commitment to the community is outstanding and United Way looks forward to expressing gratitude by visiting Publix stores and personally thanking the managers and associates who join in on the fight for a stronger Miami.

United Way is kicking off Publix Appreciation Day on Wednesday, Feb. 27, with a visual story about Jessica, a Publix associate who received help from the United Way Center for Financial Stability. Thanks to the partnership between Publix and United Way, Jessica was able to pave a path to a secure future despite many hardships. See the fight for Jessica.

United Way board, staff, volunteers and representatives from partner agencies will also visit almost 80 Publix Super Markets, warehouses and service facilities in Miami-Dade to express gratitude, deliver goodies and show some love to store managers and associates who make the annual campaign a reality.

United Way will also dedicate all its social media content to Publix on Feb. 27, using #UWLovesPublix to share photos and important moments shared by Publix and United Way.
