Jasmin Grant and Erin Sutherland to co-chair United Way Young Leaders

United Way of Miami-Dade taps Jasmin Grant and Erin Sutherland as co-chairs of United Way Young Leaders for the 2018 – 2019 fiscal year. Young Leaders is comprised of nearly 1,000 up-and-comers who each make an annual gift of $1,000 or more to United Way. As co-chairs, the duo will spearhead a 47-member executive committee charged with fostering participation from current members, garnering new ones and shaping the direction of the group.

“Jasmin and Erin are a powerhouse team who will take Young Leaders to new heights,” Maria C. Alonso, president and CEO of United Way of Miami-Dade, said. “We are thrilled to have them lead such an inspiring group of young professionals who are committed to improving our community and fighting for a stronger Miami.”

Last year, Young Leaders raised nearly $1 million to fight for the education, financial stability and health of every person in our community. Young Leaders enjoys a series of year-round networking and volunteer activities that provide personal and professional growth opportunities. A few annual Young Leader events include: a Mural Painting Project at a Miami-Dade County Public School; Build Your Own Brunch; Luncheon with Leaders series, where the group learns from a C level executive; and Happy Hours for a Cause to network and mingle, among many others.

Now in her second term as Young Leaders co-chair, Jasmin Grant is also a financial professional at AXA Advisors, LLC, where she is committed to making a difference in the lives of her clients by helping them define and reach their financial goals. Before joining AXA Advisors, LLC, Grant was a development associate at Miami Children’s Health Foundation, where she managed the Grateful Patient Program. In this role, she presented fundraising strategies to physicians and hospital administrators, and worked with individuals and corporations to obtain philanthropic capital for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Grant holds a master’s degree in business administration from Florida International University and a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Florida A&M University. In addition, she holds the FINRA Series 6 securities registration and is licensed to offer life, health and variable annuities in Florida.

Erin Sutherland is senior vice president and market executive for the Miami Market at Bank of America. She is responsible for overseeing all community partnerships, sponsorships and philanthropic activities of the bank across the greater Miami area. Prior to working at Bank of America, she worked in program administration, fundraising and special events with Miami Children’s Museum and Big Brothers Big Sisters in Boston and New Hampshire.
