Making Lasting, Measurable Change
As we begin a new fiscal year, we're taking the next step with United Way Miami's Blueprint for Impact, launching new community investments that will advance our five-year strategy and drive measurable outcomes across Miami-Dade.
Grounded in research, community voices and data, the Blueprint for Impact reflects a simple but powerful belief: lasting change happens through initiatives we lead, what we invest in and how we collaborate with others. It aligns our programs, community investments, partnerships, advocacy and cross-sector engagement around a shared vision for stronger families, greater economic mobility and healthier, more resilient communities.
In this edition of our newsletter, you'll learn more about the Blueprint for Impact and discover our refreshed brand, which reflects the next chapter of our work and our continued commitment to creating lasting impact.
The work we are undertaking today lays the foundation for what comes next. The new fiscal year brings new opportunities to innovate, strengthen partnerships and expand our impact as we address our community's most pressing challenges, remove barriers and create pathways to success for our neighbors today and for generations to come.
I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together and excited about what lies ahead. Thank you for all you do to strengthen our community and advance our mission.

Our Blueprint for Impact
The Blueprint for Impact is United Way Miami’s long-term plan guiding its community impact work through 2031. It is both a roadmap and a commitment to respond to today’s urgent realities while building a stronger Miami.
This marks our first effort at this scale in more than a decade, responding to a pivotal moment as Miami-Dade faces rising housing costs, economic instability, strained healthcare systems and widening opportunity gaps.
Through a focused five-year strategy, we are aligning investments, partnerships, advocacy and cross-sector collaboration to drive results. This means addressing root causes, expanding access to critical services and creating sustainable pathways to stability and opportunity for the people we serve.
The Path Forward
By 2031, United Way Miami aims to expand access to healthcare, strengthen early education, connect more residents to stable careers and improve financial stability for working families.
A key strategy is a five-year, $36.5 million community investment portfolio supporting 84 programs across 48 nonprofit organizations. This investment is part of our annual community impact delivered through direct services, nonprofit investments, volunteer engagement, advocacy, partnerships and collaborative initiatives.

Investing in the Educators Who Shape Our Future
More than 200 early childhood professionals gathered for United Way Miami's Center for Excellence in Early Education Conference, celebrating nearly 20 years of strengthening the educators who shape our youngest learners. The conference marked a significant milestone while looking ahead to continued impact. At a time when the connection between education and economic mobility has never been more urgent, the event highlighted the critical role early childhood education plays in building a strong talent pipeline and advancing long-term prosperity in Miami-Dade County.
As a recognized leader in this space, United Way Miami not only equips educators with the tools, training and research-based strategies they need to succeed but also helps shape a more competitive and resilient education ecosystem for the region. This year’s conference theme, “Quality by Design: Intentional Practice Across the Early Years,” reflected a commitment to advancing excellence through purposeful, evidence-based approaches. The event featured tailored learning opportunities, bilingual breakout sessions across multiple early education tracks and a focus on closing critical gaps in the field.
We’ll have two more professional development conferences for educators this year. Stay tuned for dates!

DISASTER PREPAREDNESS

United We Prepare for Hurricane Season
As the 2026 hurricane season begins, United Way Miami is building on more than 30 years of leadership in disaster preparedness, response and recovery through its United We Prepare initiative. In partnership with Verizon, we are strengthening these efforts by distributing preparedness kits, hosting community workshops, expanding access to weatherization and home-hardening resources and increasing public awareness of disaster readiness. Through deeper public-private partnerships and community-driven solutions, United Way Miami is reinforcing year-round support networks so families are prepared for storms and positioned to recover and thrive.
United Way Miami serves as the county’s ESF-15 partner at the Emergency Operations Center, helping coordinate volunteers and donations. The organization also leads Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster and is embedded in CORE, the county’s coalition of agencies dedicated to supporting all phases of disaster management.

Mayor’s Ball Celebrates 25 Years of Impact
Nearly 500 business leaders, government officials and community champions gathered for an unforgettable evening as the Mayor’s Ball celebrated its 25th anniversary honoring Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
The annual event raised more than $1 million to expand services across Miami-Dade that support families, increase access to opportunity and deliver critical resources to residents in need.
For many years, United Way Miami has partnered with the Mayor’s Office to support the community through its most challenging moments, from natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic to periods of economic uncertainty. This enduring collaboration reflects a shared commitment to ensuring all residents, especially the most vulnerable, have access to the resources and opportunities they need to achieve stability. Guided by a people-first approach and strong community focus, the partnership continues to drive meaningful impact across Miami-Dade County.
