Join us at the United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education and enjoy a day of reading and music. You will have the opportunity to read “Just a Little Music” by Mercer Mayer to a child and play instruments with the class. If you have a musical instrument please bring it along. TUESDAY, APRIL 17, 2018 – GETTIN’ BERRY HEALTHY WITH LOTUS VILLAGE
Join United Way of Miami-Dade and Lotus Village staff as they create fruit kabobs and smoothies for the residents of Lotus Village, a state-of-the-art shelter facility serving homeless women in Overtown.
FRIDAY, APRIL 20, 2018 – IMPACT PARTNERS DAY
United Way will be hosting various volunteer projects including revamping volleyball courts at AMI kids, preparing and serving meals with Salvation Army and planting orchids with Easterseals adult day care participants.
SATURDAY, APRIL 21, 2018 – LEADERS DAY OF ACTION: NEIGHBORHOOD TAKEOVER*
Join us and American Red Cross at Courtly Manor Mobile Park to create hurricane preparedness kits. Our giving communities will also have the opportunity to go door-to-door and inform residents in 521 homes about upcoming Sound the Alarm events, geared toward fire prevention and safety education, taking place on April 28 and May 1, 2018. Join us in celebrating Biscayne Bay and its significance as one of our most important ecological systems in South Florida at Shake-A-Leg in Coconut Grove. While Baynanza includes more than 25 great events throughout March and April, the event that has become nearly synonymous with this celebration is the Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day.
