Giving thanks and delivering hope

While many of us were planning menus this Thanksgiving, for our ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families, the traditional holiday season festivities can be a financial burden. Thanks to the generous contributions from our donors, including our Tocqueville members and other organizations, our United Way was able to provide Thanksgiving meals to 560 families whose children attend one of our Early Head Start Child Care Partnership centers. More than 30 volunteers from our giving communities came together on November 14 to sort and pack meals. The following day, thanks to our friends at UPS, all the boxes were delivered to these very appreciative and deserving families. We look forward to coming together again for our holiday toy drive.

“Thank you so much, you guys are amazing. We have four granddaughters who can eat and this helps a lot.” -Rylee
