Small Business Spotlight
For this month’s Small Business Spotlight, we catch up with Unity Jets
1. Tell us about your business; and what is your business philosophy?
Unity Jets is a boutique private jet brokerage firm with highly personalized service that makes our clients life easy. We have no membership fees and provide a trip by trip private jet solution which is up to 30% less than our competition.
Our goal is to provide the best flying experience. That includes both in the air and on the ground. Our one-on-one relationships and attention to detail are what set us apart.
My business philosophy is to focus on establishing long term client relationships, accomplished by being transparent and honest. We build trust with our clients by consistently providing exceptional private jet experiences.
2. Why are you passionate about your commitment to United Way?
The United Way does so many great things in Miami. As a Miami based business we want to give back to the community that has provided so much opportunity for our business. Giving is infectious, and when I see all the good the United Ways is going with its resources I want to work harder and give more!
3. How did your business get started?
After working for the largest company in the industry, NetJets, for over 6 years I saw an opportunity. The concept was simple, deliver the same level of service as NetJets without the large capital commitment that NetJets requires while saving clients 20-30% on each flight. Clients love our model, our business has grown year over year for 10 years, almost exclusively through word of mouth and referrals.
4. What is a lesson you have learned?
I’ve learned that I don’t need to be the best at everything. I’m focused on being the very best in the private aviation charter space. Many business owners try to be the solution to every client need, and constantly change their offering. I believe you lose credibility with your clients with constant change. By keeping my eye on the ball we continue to separate ourselves from the competition in our industry.
5. What’s your favorite quote?
“All of life is peaks and valleys. Don’t let the peaks get too high and the valleys too low.”
