Through teamwork, games, creativity and connection, this uplifting day is meant to create moments of joy, belonging and encouragement for teens navigating difficult circumstances.

Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services is the only 24-hour emergency shelter for teens in Miami-Dade County providing 24/7 emergency shelter, counseling and specialized support for youth ages 10 – 17 facing crises such as homelessness, abuse, family conflict or instability.

United Way Miami is proud to partner with Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services. Together, we can help young people feel seen, supported and celebrated while building confidence, resilience and community.

This summer, we are proud to join forces for United Way Miami’s Back-to-School Drive – a collaboration focused on supplying students in need with the tools to thrive in the classroom.  

When our communities come together, we can help local students walk into school this fall feeling confident, prepared and ready to learn!  

Your support, whether in the form of supplies or monetary contributions, will benefit low-income children and families of the United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education, United Way Center for Financial Stability, MISSION UNITED, Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership and various partners throughout Miami-Dade County.

A celebrity chef and premier winery take center stage at the VeritageMiami Interactive Dinner, where guests embark on a unique culinary adventure.

At this exclusive event, guests cook alongside a food maestro who conducts a live, in-person master class in preparing signature dishes. A leading winery chooses their finest bottles to complement each dish. Miami’s civic and business elite gather in an exquisite setting for an unforgettable meal and experience.

On Wednesday, May 6, our Young Leaders Luncheon with Leaders: Where Sports Meets Purpose will take place. A dynamic conversation exploring how sports leaders are using their platforms to drive real change across Miami awaits.

As our city takes the global stage with world-class teams and major sporting events, a new generation of athletes, leaders and innovators is stepping up to leverage influence, invest in our community and inspire meaningful impact beyond the game.

Designed for the Young Leaders of United Way Miami, this engaging session will offer fresh perspectives on leadership, purpose and how you can be part of the movement shaping our region’s future.

Guests include speakers Janelle Prieto, Chief Marketing & Community Officer at FIFA, Coach Mike Rumph, Director of Recruiting and On-Campus Experience at University of Miami Football, Javier Sanchez, Executive Director at Dolphins Cancer Challenge and Steve Stowe, Vice President and Executive Director at Miami HEAT Charitable Fund. John Raine, Young Leaders Executive Committee member and former Tight End for the Atlanta Falcons, will moderate the discussion.

On Tuesday, May 19 the next Women United Let’s Do Lunch will take place. Purpose to Power: Women Leading the Way will be an inspiring afternoon celebrating leadership at the highest levels. Over lunch, you’ll hear from an esteemed panel of CEOs, Presidents and Executives in our community as they share their journeys, challenges and insights on the path to leadership.

Join us for our Leaders Day of Action on Saturday, April 25, at Camp Mahachee, bringing together community leaders for a half-day of meaningful, hands-on service.

In recognition of National Volunteer Month and Earth Day, United Way Miami will support the Plant It Forward initiative, which aims to plant 10,000 trees at Camp Mahachee.

This effort is part of an ongoing restoration of the camp’s original hardwood hammock, led by the Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida. Nestled on 11½ acres, Camp Mahachee serves as a treasured outdoor space for learning, leadership and environmental stewardship.

Together, we will invest in a future where every girl has the opportunity to thrive, growing in confidence and strength within a community that believes in her potential.

On Monday, March 23 for a Fireside Chat with Udonis Haslem. A three-time NBA champion and longtime former captain of the Miami HEAT, Haslem built a remarkable 20-season career defined by grit, loyalty and leadership with one franchise.

Off the court, he is a dedicated advocate for youth development, education and community empowerment across South Florida, investing his time and resources to uplift underserved families and inspire the next generation.
