Now is your chance to get a firsthand look at how United Way of Miami-Dade invests its resources to improve the community. You can sign up to be an impact council volunteer!
As a volunteer, you will be assigned to one of four impact councils and be part of driving our strategic plan that guides our work in the areas of education, financial stability and health. You will learn about challenges facing our community, identify and evaluate opportunities to create impact, and understand the key public policy issues influencing our community today.
This year we will be embarking on a new three-year investment cycle. This is the process to determine our program funding commitments in early and school-age education, financial stability and health. A key to our success is the commitment of volunteers who serve on our impact councils. Volunteers review the written applications, hear oral program presentations, attend site visits for new program applications and deliberate collectively to formulate their funding recommendations.
There is no better time to join a United Way impact council than now. Not only will you be immersed in work that will help make Miami-Dade a more educated, prosperous and healthy community, but you will also have the opportunity to network with other, like-minded individuals who share a passion for our community. You don’t have to be an expert in the field you want to volunteer in, either. You’ll learn the ins and outs of the process through an orientation and training.
Decide on behalf of the community how United Way dollars will be spent. Make a commitment to our community, and help build a stronger Miami. To find out more information and apply, click here.
