Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) - training for residents who are interested in helping their neighborhood prepare for a disaster and provide assistance afterward

Hands On Miami - United Way's partner in volunteerism, Hands On Miami offers disaster volunteer training and placement

Miami-Dade County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters - Brings together the voluntary organizations active in disaster services, community groups and government agencies to foster more effective response to the people of Miami-Dade County in times of disaster.

Donate money
Following a disaster, the best way to get help to those who need it - fast - is to donate money that agencies working in the affected areas can distribute.

Operation Helping Hands (OHH) - click to donate when OHH is active (following a disaster). OHH is a partnership between United Way of Miami-Dade, The Miami Herald/el Nuevo Herald and other media partners.
