United Way of Miami-Dade is celebrating National Volunteer Week April 17 – 24. Choose from various virtual and in-person, socially distanced opportunities and help impact nearly 1,000 families by donating or volunteering your time.

Connect with an Older Adult | Monday, April 19, 2021 | Shifts: 10 am and 4 pm

This activity will pair volunteers with older adults who have become more isolated due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The opportunity will help create long-term bonds between isolated citizens and volunteers. The program will include an introductory training followed by organic written communication between each volunteer and older adult.

Earth Day | Thursday, April 22, 2021 | 5 pm

Volunteers will build sustainable early education kits celebrating Earth Day. The kits will contain books and activities that invite children to learn healthy habits and promote support for environmental protection.

Volunteer Miami Day | Saturday, April 24, 2021 | Shifts: 8 am, 10 am, and 2 pm

As part of National Volunteer Week and culminating on our 97th anniversary, United Way of Miami-Dade welcomes your support in helping over 500 local families in need access critical resources for everyday life. Help us pack and distribute early literacy kits for children, hygiene kits for young women, hurricane preparedness kits and non-perishable food packs for families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
